Case Study - Company: Leading Global Law Firm

The Brief
The business services employees in this large, global law firm were struggling to deal with the internal politics of the organisation, particularly relating to the fee earners.
This was affecting productivity, decision making and morale. Senior Management also feared that talented team members would leave the organisation.
The Solution
Joanna Gaudoin ran a workshop for employees which:
Helped them understand how they might be perceived internally.
Gave them time to work on key skills to improve their political intelligence
Showed them how to deal with resolving challenging situations, including in-depth work on individuals’ personal political challenges.
The Result
Following the workshop, the Director of Business Services reported that the Business Service Team had improved their core skills regarding how they related to the rest of the firm.
They have made considering perceptions and discussing behaviours a key part of the monthly Business Services team meeting, because they recognise effective political intelligence maximises productivity and effectiveness.
“We were hoping for an off-site event at which our Business Services team leaders would pick up useful skills and insights to help them deal with the increasing pressures of a demanding ‘high touch’ professional services environment.
Joanna exceeded our expectations.
She won the confidence of the group from the outset and proved an open, insightful and action-oriented facilitator.
Our group came away energised by Joanna’s skills exercises and universally positive about Joanna’s impact on the group.”
