Case Study - Individual: Understanding and dealing with career blocks

The Challenge
Steph had been working in a large financial institution (as a Senior Manager) for several years. Her boss kept suggesting she went for promotion, but she was never successful. This was frustrating due to the effort and as she was keen to step up a level and move into team management.
The Solution
Joanna worked with Steph to understand what was happening with the lack of promotion success.
She helped Steph to realise there was some game playing and helped her to develop a strategy to build on existing relationships within other departments and be able to identify new role opportunities.
The Result
The work with Joanna helped Steph receive several invitations to apply for new role opportunities in different internal departments and within a few months she had moved roles to a more senior level (Head of Department) managing a couple of people.
Clear, engaging, direct and knowledgeable, within our first session Joanna identified the office politics and games that were holding me back. We came up with strategies and an action plan for me to implement immediately.
